It's Fall
Where do I begin?
Friday - Kristen's hockey league started, they lost....guess they have to get the rust off from all summer..he he he. This year they have a new sponser "Freezerland" and the owners of the store were out to watch the game. Told me they're going to be out to watch every Friday since they don't live in the area and usually spend the night in town anyway. There were some pictures taken of the team I will post one if I can get someone to email me a copy :)
Saturday - What a productive day!! I completely gutted out and cleaned my front entrance closet, I had finally bought a shoe organizer for the darn space and boy am I pleased with how neat and tidy it is now. I got caught up on all my laundry, finished all my housework AND completely gutted out the walk in closet in our master bedroom. When Kristen got home from shopping in the states I said go look in our room, he said hey when is the last time we saw the floor of our closet like that? I said probably when we moved in....shameful isn't it!! Then Saturday night Kristen and I went to Bass Pro for a look, he finished buying the last few 'necessities' he needed for hunting...notice necessities in quotes because EVERYTHING for hunting is a necessity. Then we stopped by Corey and Vickys house to say hi since Corey was away all week moose hunting, he didn't get a moose but he did have a bear walk all over his truck while he was in the woods one evening.
Sunday - Up pretty early, had breakfast, then headed to Brampton again for Kristen's Sunday hockey league that started, but not before stopping by Jen and Chris's house who just returned from Nfld. It was kind of funny seeing Jen & myself talk so fast that it felt like we couldn't get everything said fast enough....nice to see them home :) And to Canadian Tire to buy shelves to organize the walk in closet. To find out when I got home one of them was missing the harware, going back tonight to exchange it. Then off to the game where the results were a 7-7 tie, what a game...seemed like goal for goal the whole 3 periods. Great game to watch! When we got home I made dinner for Brian and his girlfriend Angel...we hadn't seen them the whole weekend, they didn't show up Friday night, we were in bed when they showed up Saturday night and we left to go to hockey before they were up on Sunday. So I made penne a la vodka as per Brian's request. We chatted with them for a bit and then they went home. I think they're going to come back in a few weekends since we really didn't have much of a visit with them.
Which brings us to Monday!....tonight I'm going to Brampton after work to register for volleyball for the year, go to Canadian Tire (mentioned above) and to the post office to mail a package to my mom. When I get home this evening I will load the dishwasher and that is it! Well probably not because I'll want the shelves put up to get the closet finished, but we'll see how I feel.
Oh don't forget, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is on tonight :) And happy Fall 2006 first day of fall was on Saturday! Love seeing the leaves change colour.

Friday Thoughts
Sorry I 've been away all week, it's been a bit hectic. I did watch Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip on Monday night and was thoroughly impressed. I think I will become a regular viewer whenever possible (and my bed doesn't call me first). Also have some news about Grey's Anatomy, the season premier was to be last night it came on at 8pm the same time as Survivor and wasn't coming on anymore til 11pm (I have satellite) so I taped Survivor at 8pm (for Jen who's in PEI) and watched it with Kristen, Steph and baby Tristan. Then at 11pm I set the VCR to tape the season premeir since it was too late for me to stay up. To find out this morning on the radio that CTV (Cdn channel that I had set VCR too) aired the 2nd episode of the season not the premier. So NOW....I have to wait til the premier is re-aired this week and tape that for Jen too! Plus watch it myself. It's just all so confusing :) a co-worker told me today though that the premier was awesome, she watched it on an american station.
Our border left yesterday so our house is officially back to normal. I am so excited over this. Boy did this situation end up not exactly what we had hoped for our first summer in the house but now it's done and we've learned our lesson. We can be nice and help people when they need a hand but definitely need to be more firm in the boundaries we set. Just hate to see people in a jam. However it's short lived as Kristen's brother, girlfriend and his friend are coming to visit for the weekend, but I'm SO okay with this because he's family. And it's different having family coming to visit compared to having a stranger live in your house. It'll be really nice to see them this weekend.
Also I've been doing some soul searching this week (I've been driving to work myself most of the week so lots of time to think), I feel God has allowed my life to take certain turns over the past months for various reasons, and I'm trying to really evaluate myself and my role regarding so many different spectrums in my life right now. I totally believe that poem about friends may only come into your lives for a season, but for a reason. And I also believe that we all have a purpose that most of the time is unknown to us. But there are times when I sit back and think did God allow this to happen just so I could be here for when this was to happen? I know a lot of this is probably gibberish to you, but it makes sense to me :)
Anyway....Kristens Friday night hockey league starts tonight. I'm really looking forward to it, I like getting out and watching his games. Not sure what other plans I have this weekend, as the visiting family will be in Toronto all day tomorrow and then most of the evening for a concert, and I think Kristen is going to be taking a day trip across the border with a friend to get some hunting gear....he always needs something...that boy! I'm considering going shopping myself but we'll see how I feel once I get up. I really don't want to be stuck in the house but we'll see, cause I do have lots of cleaning that I could, wait should be doing...lol. And Sunday Jen and Chris will be back from Nfld...yay! So I'll be going there to visit her since volleyball registration is Monday night and we're possibly short a player....eeek!! It's a volleyball CRISIS!! What to do??

Things I'm excited about....
This past weekend I went by Payless Shoes to check out these boots I've been eyeing...they're $49.99 not the price listed on the website as that's the US price. I bought boots about 3 years ago for the same price and they've lasted me this long but I think it's time to retire them since they have holes and scuff marks everywhere, not to mention my feet get wet whenever it's raining or there's snow on the ground. I'm hoping to get them in the near future when I get some extra money and if I don't, then they'll be on my wishlist for Santa. Trust me the picture does NOT do justice to how cute they are!
Also tonight a new show is starting on NBC called Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip starring Matthew Perry and some other people. I only care about Matthew Perry, I've been a fan for such a long time. Just hoping the show is good and not a let down. Comes on 10pm eastern standard time tonight so it's basically my bedtime but I've decided that Monday's I will now stay up until 11pm ....how will I ever manage in my old age?? lol :) if you get a chance to watch it tonight let me know what you thought of it!

Saw an Accident going to work today!
Driving to work this morning, a guy probably around my age driving a green cavalier or sunfire hit a Ford Explorer or Escape not sure which since it all happened to fast.
I was driving and heard a bang when I looked in front of me but to the left lane, I see smoke, I first think the car had lost his engine because all I saw was smoke, but as the car pulled back a bit I realized it had just rear-ended the SUV in front of him. His air bag had went off and his front end was completely pushed in. I didn't see any damage on the rear end of the SUV. He must have not been paying attention or just didn't react fast enough when everyone hit their brakes (morning traffic!!) I looked over at him as I passed by and he was just sitting there completely stunned, I would be too since he was just whacked in the face with the air bag along with shock. The driver of the SUV was pulling over to go back to check on him, or it appeared that way as I drove by. I just feel so bad for the guy in the car cause I know exactly how he feels, even though my accident was almost 5 years ago now, and also not being the one doing the hitting but being the car being hit.
Anyway that's my monday morning story....

Quote for the Day
Kristen and I have been discussing so many things lately that somedays in makes my head spin. I believe we're at a point in our lives when it's time to make BIG decisions, such as children....no I do not have baby fever, so let's clear that idea up right away :) Even though the last couple of nights this week when I've been feeding Tristan, it's been awfully tempting...lol.
However, quite a few friends have babies, are having babies or planning to have babies so obviously it makes one think. Think so much, that one day I decided to figure out what our finances would be like if I were to get pregnant now...let's just say it wasn't very encouraging. Which lead to the discussions between Kristen and I about staying in Ontario or moving to better ourselves financially to put kids into the mix. Absolutely nothing has been decided but I have a strong feeling that we will be making BIG decisions regarding all these things in the next year or so. Even if we decide to stay in Ontario, have babies on our salaries I'm sure we'd find a way to make a go of it, everyone does and if you had to wait til you could literally 'afford' kids then you'd never have them, I'm fully aware of all that. But right now, it's what Kristen and I feel is best for our lives and what we want for our futures. ANYWAY....all this because I read this quote today and of course it made me think again about everything in general, thought it was a good one and just what I needed right now.

Dawson College
I'm stunned that this happened in Canada, I shouldn't be because we seemed to be so influenced by American media that I guess I should have known that it was bound to happen here, some disturbed young person would think, yeah I'll make a statement, look at the publicity Columbine got, I'll do that!
I want to sent out my heart felt condolences and prayers to the students, staff and families affected by this tragedy.
Here's a link on the CTV website about the shooting.

Pics from the Pinery
Boy were we impressed! The Park is huge approx 6000 acres, the waters and beach were the cleanest I've seen at a provincial park. It's on Lake Huron if I hadn't mentioned that before. We'll definitely be going back next summer but hopefully this time for a long weekend and bringing or renting bikes since there are soooo many trails to do.
Some pics of the beach
Kristen digging a whole then both of us sinking our feet in it, felt like we were kids at Christmas but instead just playing in the dirt....lol. A little too cold for swimming but still nice to wade our feet.
Love this picture of Kristen fishing, you can't see the rod but he is, only caught tiny little sunfish which he threw back in.
The sunset, it was sooo windy and cool but still a nice evening.

Weekend Plans
This weekend will be our last camping trip of the season. There were supposed to be a few of us going but due to sudden trips to Nfld and parents coming to visit from Nfld it'll just be Kristen and I going. We went camping once just the two of us, quite a few years ago, and said we would never do it again.
But I'm okay with just the two of us going this weekend, might as well give it a second chance and see what it's like. I'm sure I'll enjoy our time alone more than he will, girls are just like that. Even if he did he probably wouldn't admit it in a million years....
So we're off to The Pinery Provincial Park which is near Grand Bend if anyone is familiar with Ontario geography at all. I think we have to drive almost 3 hrs to get there. I'm taking tomorrow afternoon off work to hopefully avoid some of the Friday traffic.
Anyway time to go, I'll do my best to post pictures when we return. Have a good weekend everyone :)
