The pomegranate...the "in" fruit these days it seems.
Dictionary.com explains it as:
pome·gran·ate:
- A deciduous shrub or small tree (Punica granatum) native to Asia and widely cultivated for its edible fruit.
- The fruit of this tree, having a tough reddish rind, and containing many seeds, each enclosed in a juicy, mildly acidic, red pulp.
- The fruit of this tree, having a tough reddish rind, and containing many seeds, each enclosed in a juicy, mildly acidic, red pulp.
Well....Kristen decided to buy some,....and LOVES them...but there's a trick to eat them. Here's how Kristen does it:
Cut off the top
Put in water
Soak
Scoop seeds from pulp
Empty pulp will look like this
Rinse
Enjoy :)
To be truthful, I liked pomegranate flavoured things but not the actual fruit (like most fruit). Yet when I see this I always picture it in a sort of simple syrup (water & sugar) and poured over vanilla ice cream....maybe I'll try it some day.
